Since Century introduced the original BOB® Body Opponent Bag back in in 1998, they’ve gotten several requests for a BOB with arms. Century decided to test out the old saying “the customer is always right” and gave our Research and Development team the task of creating a product that would give BOB arms. They came up with this jacket, which fits on the Original BOB. Equipping your BOB with the BOB Jacket allows the martial artist to practice an even wider variety of moves: for example, parrying, or knocking an opponent’s hand out of the way before throwing a punch. You can also practice blocking techniques or bobbing and weaving around the arms – critical skills in many fighting arts. Additionally, training on an armed BOB gives martial artists a feeling for how to work around arms when throwing body shots or kicks. BOB is used for stand-up striking arts, like karate, tae kwon do, Muay Thai and tang soo do. The realistic head and torso make it great for self-defense arts like Jeet Kune Do and Krav Maga as well. Like all of Century products, the BOB Jacket is designed to stand up to the toughest workouts. It’s constructed from vinyl with reinforced stitching, and the arms are filled with high-density polyurethane foam.
Have you ever wondered how the original (and still most popular!) Wavemaster freestanding bag came to be? Once upon a time, if you wanted to train on a bag, you needed to hang it. This meant drilling holes in your ceiling or wall, or investing in a hanging bag stand. Although all these options are fine and dandy in some situations, sadly, they don’t work for people with limited space, those who can’t/don’t want to drill into their walls, or those who need to use one room for multiple purposes and therefore can’t have permanently affixed bags. We decided that was no good. So, we made the Wavemaster! This freestanding bag can be used for the same types of training as a traditional heavy bag, but with several advantages! First, the Wavemaster can be easily moved! Just tip it onto the side of the base and roll it. Even when it is fully filled (use sand or water, and it weighs up to 250 lbs.), it’s a one-person job. Second, it’s simple to set up! Once it arrives at your door, all you have to do is: 1) take it out of the box, 2) set up the base, 3) fill the base with your choice of heavy substance, 4) put the bag onto the base. The end! No special tools, equipment, or skills needed! Not to mention, the Wavemaster is adjustable! There are seven height settings, from 47” to 68”, so whether you’re working oblique kicks or head kicks, you can use the Wavemaster. The bag section of the Wavemaster is 24” tall with a 13” diameter.

Combining the best-of-the-best features from both the Versys and BOB lines, VS. BOB is one of the most versatile bags on the market. Although you can’t see it under the black vinyl cover, there is a full BOB torso within this bag for striking training, as well as the classic BOB face for practicing eye gouges, throat and neck strikes, and more self-defense techniques. The arms, which are filled with a soft padding, can be used for trapping (common in wing chun and jeet kune do), as well as bobbing and weaving, parrying, and other moves that involve working around an opponent’s arms. Moving down: VS. BOB stands tall on three dense foam legs. This tripod stance allows users to work on inside and outside leg kicks, attacks on the knees, and groin shots. For this reason, the VS. BOB is intensely popular within self-defense and tactical arts, such as krav maga and jeet kune do. Although the foam in his legs is sturdy, what really keeps the VS BOB upright is what’s between them… no, lower. The three sections that form a triangle connecting his feet are sand weights. Each section weighs slightly over 36 lbs., for a total weight of 110 lbs. VS BOB stands 69” tall. 46 of those inches are in his legs; the rest is torso and head (18” – keep in mind, although his legs are 46” long, they extend out at angles so not all that length translates to height).
